I recently attended the opening of Heritage Bicycles located at 2959 N. Lincoln Ave in Chicago. I was expecting an industrial space filled with racks of bikes, biker boys, helmets and gear. But this was no ordinary bike store. It’s a chic cafe with a Bike retail/repair shop in the back room. All bikes are handmade on site and are available for a test drive.
Heritage also serves Stumptown Coffee, Brooklyn’s P&H Natural Soda, Chicago’s Southport Grocery pastries and small bites and an assortment of teas and hot chocolate. You can’t help but fall in love with the white-washed walls, mirrored accents, chalkboards and Heritage’s artisan-made bikes on display.
Go ahead, make a pit stop at Heritage Bicycles!
