One of my favorite childhood activities was visiting the Mahopac Fire Department Carnival in the summer. It was the first time I tasted cotton candy, drove a bumper car, shot a BB gun, rode a roller coaster and won my first pet gold fish.
Who knew a short drive south of the city to the Little Village neighborhood would take me back in time. The Festival de La Villita, held last weekend, was filled with Carnival rides, authentic Mexican treats, Cinnamon’s nemesis Rock-the Pit Bull, funnel cake, cotton candy, camels and goats, oh my!
A great friend of mine who always looks flawless, even at 7 months pregnant, is planning ahead for the big arrival. I’m not talking about the baby-she’s concerned about what to wear post baby!
