I am loving the grey and yellow color scheme right now in home decor! There are so many shades of greys and golds that the options are endless.
With the unseasonably warm weather in Chicago this week, I couldn’t help but savor the last few days of sun. I fished out my bathing suits, beach bag and sunblock and hit the beach. All of this beach talk inspired me to look into some nautical-inspired home decor and accessories.

I have seven different bedding collections (yes, seven) and change them out frequently based on the seasons or even my mood. Some may say I am a bit bedding obsessed so when I heard Kearsley Fine Linens is now available at one of my favorite Chicago salons, Kneen & Co., I had to see this product in person at their recent trunk show.
I met the delightful owner and designer Heather Wolf Kearsley, who gave me an exclusive preview of all of their bed and bath goodies. Some of my favorites included:
-The Tyrolean Embroidery Collection: This 600-thread count Egyptian Cotton Sateen with hand-embroidered border is woven in Italy. Bellissimo, it feels like butter!
-The Dane Collection: Perfect for Mountain retreats this heavy blend of silk and wool has a more masculine feel and includes a stag horn button detail on shams and duvet.
-The Charlotte Collection: This exquisitely rare textile is made of 100% Irish linen and lasts 25-30 years.
-Charles II Blanket: Made of lavish alpaca and wool, available in cream, taupe and chestnut. The sample they displayed on the bed had a custom fringe detail, which was beautifully done.
-Vintage Textile Pillows: Made of antique lace and brocade, these pillows are one-of-a-kind.
Kearsley is known for their unique custom approach. Their line is fully customizable by blending the finest linens with flanges, edge details and embroidery. “If you want your clothes to fit perfectly you have them tailored, the same goes for a bed. Every order is made per the exact specifications of our client’s mattresses”, says Donna Lindquist.
Kearsley Linens specializes in creating bed and bath linens that are luxurious, comfortable and tailored to fit your personal style. It’s no wonder Kearsley Linens are found in the finest homes, yachts and private jets across the globe.
Kneen & Co. now carries the Kearsley collection exclusively in Chicago.
Special thanks to Mary Jeanne Kneen for being the consummate host.

Challenge: The weather is getting cooler and my jackets are getting heavier. I’m looking for warm and flattering faux shearling vests and jackets.
Solution: These options are all distinct and stylish.
I know it’s not outerwear, but how cute are these!
Love the color and open style of the vest.
Light enough to wear under a jacket.
Looks cozy and warm!
This weekend while shopping for a friend’s wedding gift, I noticed all of the beautiful home decor items made from tortoise shell, woods and beautiful stones. Here is a round-up of my favorite online buys.
Despite the spotty weather, our Editor’s and Designer’s events went off without a hitch on Friday night and more than 40 media and designer folks got a sneak peek at the Market. Here are some of their fave picks and mine:
